Dr. Claire Zotkiewicz is a New Orleans native and a recent graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her interest in veterinary medicine began when she participated in a summer camp at the Louisiana SPCA at the age of 11, where she then volunteered for six summers. By the end of high school, she held her first veterinary assistant position at a local clinic and then moved to Baton Rouge, LA to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Animal, Dairy, and Poultry Science with a minor in Business Administration from LSU.
During her undergraduate years, she worked part-time as a veterinary assistant at a small animal general, emergency, and specialty practice while also putting in a few hours as a sales associate at her favorite local outdoor retailer. By her fourth year of veterinary school, she became a Fear Free Certified Professional and an IVAS Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.
She is very excited to be back in her hometown of New Orleans and to be a part of the VCA family! Her interests include integrative medicine, behavior, nutrition, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, being outdoors, and playing tourist in her favorite city.
