Kelly Broussard
Staff Veterinarian DVM
Dr. Kelly Broussard became an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Anderson Mill Animal Hospital in July 2014. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and from the earliest stages of her life she was close with animals. "I've had pets around since I was an infant," Dr. Broussard explains. "Later, I often shadowed a family friend often while I was making the decision as to what I wanted to go to school for."

She chose to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Broussard attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, gaining her Bachelor's Degree of Science in Animal Science in 2006 and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association, and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Broussard's professional interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, but she enjoys the entire process of providing veterinary care to patients in need.

"I enjoy the opportunity to help that we get every time a very sick pet comes in," Dr. Broussard says. "I love being able to sort through data, lab work and radiographs to diagnose and then determine the best treatment plan for the family and pet."

At home Dr. Broussard cares for two Labrador Retrievers named Henry and Gus, four hens and lots of goldfish. In her free time she enjoys cooking, brewing beer, outdoor activities (camping, hiking, kayaking) and attending concerts.
