Growing up as an only child I accumulated many pets that became my “siblings”. Having the mentality that our pets are family ultimately led me to want to care for them in every way possible so becoming a veterinarian was only natural. A southern California native, I obtained my undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University. During college I worked as a veterinary technician and learned the ins and outs of the profession from highly skilled and experienced veterinarians in the area.

After a trip to Costa Rica and Panama providing veterinary care to large and small animals, my love for travel was ignited. When the opportunity to obtain my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts was presented, I took it without a second thought. The Ross University veterinary medicine curriculum was demanding and living in a different country proved challenging though scuba diving and relaxing on the white sand beaches definitely made things bearable. I continued expanding horizons, working with veterinarians in South Africa on rhino conservation, lions, various antelope species, and many others at the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Finally, I completed my clinical year of education at the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama and externships at the top veterinary facilities around the nation as well as practicing advanced spay/neuter techniques.

Following veterinary school, I completed a rigorous rotating internship at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center (ASEC) in Los Angeles working with specialists in surgery, internal medicine, radiology, and cardiology, as well as many hours in the emergency and critical care department. I then went on to pursue acupuncture training and certification with world renowned TCVM practitioner Dr. Xie at the Chi Institute in Florida. Future educational plans include certification in herbal medicine and food therapy through the Chi Institute.

My personal interests include pain management, endocrine disorders, and mixing alternative therapies for a multi-pronged approach to any disorder. When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy yoga, cycling, and spending time with my Golden Retriever, Charlie, and two cats, Ramsay and Minni.
