Wendy joined VCA in August of 2013 and came to us an impressive background in animal medicine. She grew up living in a state park in New Johnsonville, Tennessee that is a Civil War battlefield. She considered going into human medicine in the form of becoming a nurse but decided her passion for animals was greater and veterinary technology united the two.
After graduating high school she attended Columbia State Community College, graduating with an Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 1989. Additionally Wendy became a Qualified Veterinary Dental Technician, from the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians in 1997. She also holds a certificate as a Health Assistant.
When you and your pet visit VCA Animal Medical Center you will find Wendy working in the exam rooms and in the treatment areas assisting with patients during procedures.
Wendy has been married to her husband John (a Public Health Veterinarian with the USDA) for almost 24 years, and we have a 20 year old daughter named Andrea. Some of Wendy's hobbies include reading, traveling and sewing as a Costumer for Ballet Nebraska.
