Dr. Lovell is a New Jersey native, having grown up in Somerset county. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors in Animal Science with a focus in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Research from Rutgers University, Cook College. Upon graduation, he relocated to Ithaca, New York, where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

He has worked as an associate veterinarian at Ocean County Veterinary Hospital and Flanders Veterinary Clinic. In 2016, Dr. Lovell joined the team at VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital. He has strong interests in internal medicine, theriogenology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. In January 2023, Dr. Lovell became the Medical Director for VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital.

Dr. Lovell and his wife, Michelle, also a veterinarian, have lived in Hardwick since 2011. They have a 8 year old daughter named Clara, a YouTube famous beagle named Roger, and 6 Boer goats named Doris, Daisy, Margie, Flossie, Rita, and Hilma. He has a passion for growing giant pumpkins and is happy to share seeds with anyone interested in starting this addicting hobby!
