Catherine De Jesus, Staff Veterinarian

VMD

Dr. DeJesus joined VCA Calvert Veterinary Center in January 2016. She grew up in the Bronx, New York where she has worked with animals since she was 14 years old. She pursued her love of animals in her academic studies at SUNY college of Environmental Science and Forestry and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Environmental Science while taking courses required for veterinary school. After graduation, she worked closely with animals in an internship at the National Institutes of Health Hematology Department. There she assisted in research with biological response modifying drugs used to help prevent and alleviate the side effects chemotherapy has on certain blood cells. After finishing her internship, Dr. DeJesus pursued her goal of becoming a veterinarian and attended the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. DeJesus joined VCA Calvert Veterinary Center because of its gold standard veterinary care and focus on clients and continuing education. Dr. DeJesus currently resides in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband, Nick, Australian Shepherd named Luke, and the son. In their free time they enjoy traveling to see family and friends, binge watching NETFLIX, cooking, and doing work around the house. She also enjoys dancing, listening to music, and reading.
