Lisa Reynolds, Staff Veterinarian

DVM, cVMA

Doctor Lisa Reynolds grew up in California, where she developed an early love of the beach, and raised a menagerie of animals, from dogs and cats to horses and pocket pets. While researching treatments for her own animals, she also discovered a love of medicine, and decided to become a veterinarian.

However, life had other plans, and she married her best friend, Alan, and committed herself to raising their two daughters, Mary and Katy. Once her children were older, she was fortunate to be able to follow her dream to become a veterinarian, attending the University of Tennessee Veterinary School in Knoxville, with the full support of her husband and daughters. After graduating, she also obtained certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Reynolds followed the call of the ocean to Berlin, Maryland, in 2012, and has been with VCA Delmarva ever since. She is passionate about pain management, including integrative therapies, such as acupuncture and laser, and loves helping clients manage chronic conditions, such as kidney disease, to help pets enjoy the best quality of life possible. She is also very interested in exotic animals and poultry medicine, and will treat pets of all kinds.

When not at work, Dr. Reynolds enjoys biking, lifting weights, and spending time at the beach. She also loves caring for her 5 cats,  2 dogs,  5 sheep, and especially spending time outdoors with her flock of pet chickens.

"I don't remember a time I've ever been without animals. Growing up, my siblings and I often took in lost strays and 'doctored' them until we could place them in forever homes. We raised a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, sheep, horses, goats, and hamsters. My parents instilled in me a respect for the smallest of creatures, and I strongly believe that our pets deserve the same level of care and attention from their doctors as we do. I came to veterinary medicine as a second career, after many years of being unable to give up my childhood dream. I attended veterinary school at the University of Tennessee while also nurturing a marriage and a family. I love talking to clients and helping them to understand what is happening with their pets. I strive to give my best effort to every patient that I see, and feel so honored that clients give me their trust. I do this work because I feel called, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to practice a job that I love every day."
