By making a small incision in the abdomen, our veterinarians can insert a lighted tube called a laparoscope to view the internal organs. The laparoscope is used to check for abnormal tissue, take biopsy samples, and perform a variety of surgeries. Surgeries that can be done laparoscopically have lower risks and faster recovery times than traditional surgery. While laparoscopic surgery has become a common option in human medicine, it is just becoming available in veterinary medicine, and VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital is fortunate to have the skilled surgeons to offer this service to our patients.

If you have any questions about our minimally invasive veterinary procedures, please contact VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital to speak with our technicians or veterinarians.
