Steve C., Hospital Manager

RVT

Steve has been in the veterinary field for over thirty years. His career began as an aspiring veterinary assistant at a small animal practice in Ramona California. After obtaining his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology and registered veterinary technician credential in 1995, Steve accepted a position as a RVT at the San Diego Zoo. During his 16 year tenure at the zoo, Steve obtained his teaching credential and taught veterinary assisting for the Regional Occupational Program after work. He would teach the class for 12 years and publish two books related to the subject for both domestic and exotic animals. Steve also contributed several articles for Veterinary Technician Magazine and spoke on the subject of veterinary technology at conferences throughout the country. Steve has spent time working for the animal care program at UCSD, teaching at PIMA Medical Institute and most recently has taken over the management of the VCA Eye Clinic for Animals. Steve has been involved with technician training for VCA and continues to share his passion and knowledge of veterinary medicine with others in the industry. In his free time, Steve can be found ocean fishing or surfing with his talented daughter Rachel.
