Ellis was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. They own a wonderfully short Chow Chow named Augustine, and enjoy taking her out on hikes, long walks and camping trips! At a young age, Ellis enjoyed caring for animals, learning about animal husbandry, and watching animal planet on TV. This led to many hours volunteering after school and all day during the summers for the majority of high school at the Matsu Animal Shelter.

As they started college and exploring what they might want to do for a career, Ellis had a hard time finding something they enjoy as much as the work they did at the Matsu Animal Shelter. Ellis was told about the vet assistant program at the Matsu college, they enrolled, and finished it in 2019. This is where their passion lies in caring for and helping animals. They are excited to have this new opportunity here at VCA Far Country to continue what they love to do.
