Adopt a pet from the AC&C of N.Y. and receive a complimentary VCA veterinary exam.Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) is one of the largest animal shelter-systems in the country, taking in more than 30,000 animals each year. As a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization since 1995, AC&C rescues, cares for and finds loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City. AC&C facilities operate in all five boroughs.

ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center Hotline

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is staffed 24 hours with veterinary health professionals who have been specially trained in veterinary toxicology. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call the ASPCA 24 hour emergency Animal Poison Control Center hotline at (888) 426-4435. A consultation fee is applied to your credit card.

Friends of Animals

Friends of Animals

Gateway Animal Hospital is proud to accept low-cost spay/neuter certificates from Friends of Animals (FoA). Founded in 1957, FoA advocates low-cost spaying and altering as the most effective means of preventing the births of dogs and cats, and their subsequent abandonment, suffering and mass killing. To purchase a certificate, visit them online at their website or call 1-800-321-PETS (1-800-321-7387) and request an application.

Gateway Animal Hospital proudly accepts low-cost spay/neuter certificates from Muffin's Pet Connections. Founded in 1988, Muffin's not only offer low-cost spay/neuter certificates, they also offer pet adoption programs and educational newsletters.

Staten Island Council for Animal Welfare

Gateway Animal Hospital proudly accepts low-cost spay/neuter certificates from Staten Island Council for Animal Welfare (SICAW). Founded in 1972, SICAW is not only dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of stray and abandoned animals, but also offers their own low-cost spay/neuter program and is committed to furthering the education of the public about the importance of spaying/neutering and proper pet care.
