Sarah Kussman, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Kussman grew up on the South Shore. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Pre-veterinary Science in 2016 at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She then attended St. George's University School of Veterinary medicine, completing her 4th year clinical rotations at The Ohio State Veterinary School in 2020. After graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA South Shore.
Dr. Kussman enjoys working with pets of different breeds and personalities, getting to know a variety of pets and their owners, while providing care for patients throughout their lives. Dr. Kussman has an interest in preventative medicine as well as integrative medicine. Dr. Kussman is also passionate about wildlife conservation. While living in Grenada, she participated in Leatherback Sea turtle research and conservation where they would watch mothers lay eggs, count, measure and relocate nests when necessary.
In her free time, Dr. Kussman enjoys cooking, kayaking, swimming, hiking and camping. Dr. Kussman can often be found with her two dogs, Luna (Caribbean island mix) and Cenek (German Shepherd). Dr. Kussman also has a feisty cat named Lucipur who enjoys going for walks in his backpack.
