Dr. Ferguson-Swieter is a native of Baltimore MD. She received her B.S. in Biology from Towson University in Maryland. While attending Towson University she worked part-time as a veterinary assistant in a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital and immediately knew that she was in the right field. She went on to receive her DVM from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation from veterinary school she moved to Northern Virginia to begin her veterinary career as a small animal practitioner. She joined VCA Healthy Paws Medical Center in 2015. Dr. Ferguson enjoys preventative medicine, surgery, endocrinology, and has a special interest in dentistry. Dr.Ferguson lives with her husband Greg (also a veterinarian), and their son Lucas, two dogs, Gretchen and Kaylie, and their cat, Crookshanks. In her spare time she enjoys going to wineries and traveling. She has traveled to many countries including Italy, Ireland, and Australia, just to name a few. She also enjoys baking (especially cupcakes) and attempting to cook.
