Kim Dean, Associate Veterinarian

In 2009 Dr. Dean graduated from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2010 she joined VCA Holly Street shortly after completing a year-long formal, small animal rotating internship at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists (SFVS). At SFVS, she had the benefit of both excellent mentorship and exposure to one of the highest case loads in the San Francisco Bay Area. This has afforded her the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and specialists. Furthermore, the significant amount of primary emergency service responsibilities allowed her to strengthen her clinical skills, work independently as well as develop stronger client communication skills.

She currently resides in Burlingame with her husband Masao, infant Sofia and Ridgeback/hound mix Linus. In her spare time she enjoys playing the guitar, running and eating lots of desserts. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam and her parents immigrated to the United States in 1980. She grew up in Northern Virginia and shortly after graduating from the University of Virginia, she joined a technology consulting firm in San Francisco. She traveled along the entire west coast, providing Microsoft technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies. After six years as a consultant she realized that she has a passion for working with animals and people and pursued a career in veterinary medicine.
