Dr. Lisa Byer was born and raised in southern Louisiana. She was surrounded by animals from an early age and quickly developed a passion for their care and well-being. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2001 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 from Louisiana State University. After graduation Dr. Byer spent four years practicing companion animal medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada. With a desire to be closer to home and family, she moved to Texas in 2009.

While Dr. Byer enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine she has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and wound care. Her goal is to support the special bond between her clients and their cherished four-legged family members through clear communication and education in order to provide the highest quality of care for her patients throughout their lives.

Dr. Byer and her husband, Danny, have two year old son, Declan. They also share their home with two cats (Mouser and Asia) and two dogs (Leila and Barnabas). Outside of the clinic Dr. Byer enjoys being outdoors and active, often with her son and dogs in tow, but she also never turns down an opportunity to lose herself in a good book.
