Blood Donation

Did you know your pet can save a life? At VCA Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals, blood products are needed for critically ill and injured patients suffering from disorders such as cancer, accident induced trauma, or blood loss during surgery. We use whole blood, packed red blood cells and plasma for both dogs and cats, so your canine and feline friends can contribute to the well-being of a pet in need. Donating blood is a simple and relatively painless procedure. The process usually takes less than one hour from examination to donation. Give us a call to learn more about our blood donor program!

Donations may be made every 2 to 3 months, and each pet receives one free health exam and full blood work-up per year. In addition, there is a $25 hospital credit given for each donation and a large bag of Royal Canin dog/cat food. Please Contact Us for more information on how your dog or cat can be a blood donor.
