Dakota B.
Veterinary Assistant/Team Lead for Treatment Room Technicians & Assisants
Dakota has been part of the VCA Mission family for a long time. When he was little, he used to visit the old facility to help us out as much as he could until moving to Oregon. Dakota moved back to California to join our team shortly after graduating High School in Southern Oregon in 2010 and has been back with us since.

He’s always had a love for animals and has owned a range of species big and small: beardies, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, birds, a pig, chickens, cats, dogs, and goats! He has a convenient natural ability of understanding K-9 behavior, and how to work with them pertaining to their breed and behavioral specifications, making sure they are most comfortable when at the hospital. He has spent time in many of our hospital departments including over a year of emergency, and is our Hospital Safety Coordinator.

When he’s not at VCA Mission Animal and Bird Hospital he can be found at school working towards a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), or he’s out adventuring the San Diego desert trails with his significant other and their dog, Atlas Javir Vom Talka Marda, a Sable German Shepherd from Guadalajara.
