Hometown Care at VCA Mount Kisco Veterinary Clinic

Mount Kisco Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1981 by Joseph Haddad, and it quickly became established as an important part of the Mount Kisco community. In October of 2004, the practice was purchased by Dr. Gwen Sherman and Dr. Mimi Raleigh, who planned to expand the scope of medical services offered, with a focus on compassionate preventive care. Over the next five years, new equipment and partnerships with local specialists allowed Mount Kisco Veterinary Clinic to practice the most modern, progressive medicine.

Dr. Jonathan Olsen joined the practice in 2009, following an internship at a large emergency hospital, and pursued additional training in ultrasonography. Four years later, Dr. Sherman assumed sole ownership of the practice and began the search for a new associate veterinarian. Dr. Rachel Albert became part of our team in 2014, moving back home to start her family after practicing in Rhode Island.

We are proud of how our practice has grown and flourished in Mount Kisco, and consider ourselves to be a vital part of this vibrant community. Our animal hospital also serves Millwood, Chappaqua, Bedford, Bedford Hills, and Armonk communities.

Our Philosophy

At VCA Mount Kisco Veterinary Clinic, we believe that preventive care is the cornerstone of longevity and comfort in our patients. During their routine wellness screening, your pet undergoes a thorough physical examination, as well as basic labwork to screen for fecal parasites, heartworms, and tick-borne diseases. We also stress the importance of year-round parasite prevention at home, weight management, and oral health maintenance, to avoid preventable disease.

As your pet gets older, our screening includes semi-annual exams, as well as blood/urine tests to assess the health of the kidneys, liver, thyroid and other organ systems. When problems are detected prior to your pet feeling ill, we have a greater likelihood of correcting them, often in a safer and more cost-effective way.

This philosophy allows our patients to live longer, happier, healthier lives, and strengthens the bonds between you, your pet, and our caring professionals!
