VCA Paradise Valley Emergency Animal Hospital (PVEAH) offers complete emergency tertiary diagnostic and treatment services.

Emergency Diagnostic Lab:
VCA PVEAH offers a complete in-house diagnostic lab allowing for a thorough diagnostic base line and more advanced testing including Complete blood Count, Chemistry, Electrolytes, Blood Gas, Coagulation Profiles, Lactate, Urinalysis, Canine Spec CPL and in-house blood typing and cross-matching for both canine and feline patients.

Transfusion and Fluid therapy:
At VCA PVEAH a variety of blood products, crystalloid and colloid fluids and Rattlesnake Anti-venin are always available for patient care. We carry canine packed red blood cells and both canine and feline fresh frozen plasma. We stock a large number of crystalloid fluid types as well as Vet Starch and are prepared to handle challenging cases such as those patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, hypoadrenocorticism, hypernatremia, pancreatitis, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, parvoviral enteritis and others.

Digital Radiography:
VCA PVEAH offers digital radiography. Images are placed on CD-Rom and are sent with the client to the referring veterinary hospital to become a permanent part of their medical record and images can be e-mailed on request as well. Further, if requested, a boarded radiologist can review all images for an additional fee.

Ultrasound:
VCA PVEAH offers emergency ultrasound services. All medical team members have training in FAST abdominal ultrasound evaluation. These services allow the medical team to evaluate an emergency patient for abdominal trauma, neoplasia, abdominal effusion, and pericardial effusion as well. Our services will allow referring hospitals the ability to obtain key information on critical care patients immediately. The referring veterinarian will receive a full report and copies of images. Images can also be placed on a CD-Rom and can be sent with the client to the referring veterinary hospital to become a permanent part of their medical record. If requested, a boarded radiologist can review the images for an additional fee.
