Dr. Marian Ansems joined the VCA Phoenix West Animal Hospital team as an associate doctor in 2000. She became the Medical Director in 2002 and continues to treat patients full-time. Born and raised on a farm in Nova Scotia, Canada, Dr. Ansems obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She then continued her studies in veterinary medicine at one of only four veterinary schools in Canada, at the University of Prince Edward Island. Tired of the cold winters and looking for adventure, Dr. Ansems headed south to sunny Phoenix Arizona where she found a great job with great people at Phoenix West!
Dr. Ansems is passionate about educating people on the best health care for their pets. She knows that by great service and education we have the best chance possible to allow our beloved pets to live longer healthier, and happier lives. She also enjoys working with birds, reptiles, and small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc).
