Elizabeth Morse, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Elizabeth Morse is originally from Maine, where she grew up next to a dairy farm and first developed her strong love of animals. Dr. Morse's family always had multiple pets while she was growing up, from dogs and cats, to guinea pigs and hermit crabs. She first decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian as a young child, when her favorite cat was diagnosed with diabetes. Since that time, Dr. Morse has achieved her dream of becoming a vet, but she still continues to strive to learn, to grow, and to keep up with all the new advances in the veterinary medical field. Her goal as a veterinarian is to always try and provide the best medical care possible, as well as to help foster the human-animal bond that has been such a big part of her life.

Dr Morse earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine, Orono, and shortly after relocated to the west coast to attend UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from UC Davis, Dr. Morse completed an internship at the Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Irvine, and then worked in general practice in Orange County for several years before joining us here in Oregon.

Dr. Morse has special interests in ultrasound, nutrition, and internal medicine. She is especially passionate about feline medicine and interested in making veterinary visits less stressful and more fulfilling for cats and their families. Her favorite quote about cat behavior is from Mary Bly: "Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later."

Dr. Morse currently lives in south Portland with her husband and their five cats. She is looking forward to adding a dog (and maybe some children) to the family, once she and her husband achieve their goal of buying a home. In her free time, Dr. Morse likes hiking, camping, gardening, exploring new places, eating good food, and spending time with family and friends.
