Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Harris
Dr. Calla Harris grew up in the Bay Area deciding to go into veterinary medicine after having a job cleaning kennels at a general practice veterinary hospital during high school. She attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology. During this time Calla completed a research apprenticeship in veterinary medicine. She then traveled to Scotland to receive my veterinary degree. After witnessing homelessness and her own family struggles growing up in the Bay Area, Calla really wanted to establish aid for people in some way and co-founded a free veterinary clinic for the pets of those that are homeless or vulnerably housed in Edinburgh Scotland called All4Paws. During veterinary school, Calla spent as much time as I could in the ICU and with the emergency critical care team and developed a growing love for emergency medicine. After veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship in Santa Rosa at VCA PetCare East. Calla then stayed on working as an Emergency clinician at the same hospital until coming to SFVS.

Aside from work, Calla likes to spend time with her dogs. She has a German Shepherd who traveled to Scotland with her and recently adopted a Great Dane Shepherd mix. They've spend a lot of time wandering local trails and most recently training for backpacking trips. Calla loves spending as much time as possible skiing in the winter and is always hoping for lots of snow in the mountains.  She also loves traveling so that she can eat great food and spend time with friends and family.
