BAER (pronounced "bear"), or Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response is a procedure utilizing a computer to record the electrical activity of the brain in response to auditory stimulation. BAER testing is the only accurate way to determine if a pet is deaf or has hearing loss. The test is painless and can be performed on any pet over six weeks of age.
Before testing, we require that every pet have a permanent and unique identification, i.e. a microchip/tattoo. We would be happy to microchip your pet before testing if needed!
