Side effects seen with this drug may include vomiting, decreased appetite, decreased energy, soft stools, and difficulty walking. Contact your veterinarian if these symptoms appear or remain troublesome. Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Usage Guidelines

Give one chew daily. Do not give more than one per day. Dogs should be weighed prior to use to ensure correct dosing. Care should be taken that the dog consumes the complete dose and observed for a few minutes after to ensure that part of the dose is not lost or refused.

Not for use in humans. Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Do not use in puppies younger than 10 weeks of age or weighing less than 4 pounds. Do not use Advantus™ in cats. Advantus™ has not been evaluated in dogs that are pregnant, breeding or lactating. Advantus™ has been safely used in dogs treated with commonly prescribed vaccines, parasiticides and other medications.


Advantus™ does not protect against ticks or mosquitoes.

Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.


Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
