Dr. Lauer graduated from Ludwig Maximilians Universitaet Muenchen, spent her Internship at University of Georgia at did her residency at Iowa State University.
She is board certified in the United States and in Europe. She is a board certified surgeon in the US and Europe, as well as certified for physical therapy.
Her clinical interests are: fracture healing, external skeletal fixation, physical rehabilitation and objective gait analysis. Research interests include: total hip replacement, external skeletal fixation, kinematic and kinetic gait evaluation, surface electromyography, and Finite Element Analysis
Dr. Lauer is a true "outdoors-woman". She enjoys flying (especially soaring), kayaking, hiking. Traveling and surgery combined when she worked as veterinarian in Germany and New Zealand.
She loves to cook and taste new food; fluently speaks English, German and some French, and lives with her adorable tuxedo cat 'Cici'.
