For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a veterinarian. My early childhood years were filled with all sorts of strange creatures, including goldfish, leopard geckos, a tortoise, a mouse, and finally, two small dogs. In high school, I began volunteering at a local veterinary clinic and seeing what being a veterinarian was really all about. I haven’t looked back since!

I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and focused all my academics on acceptance to veterinary medical school. I was a national merit scholar and attended Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. Here, I completed an honors thesis working with the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA, researching how creating an Instagram page for the shelter would impact adoption rates. (This Instagram page is still up and running today!) After completing my undergraduate studies, I ultimately decided to attend the University of California, Davis for veterinary medical school, which was ranked the #1 vet school in the world during my 4 years of attendance!

I’m currently enjoying being back in my home state and living my dream of being a veterinarian. My areas of special interest within veterinary medicine include reptiles and exotic mammals, cardiology, dermatology and animal behavior. In my free time I enjoy trying to keep up with my childhood love of ballet, reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family. I’m blessed to share my home with my two dogs, Scarlet and Oscar. Scarlet is a sassy havanese who has been with me since I was 11 years old, and Oscar is a happy-go-lucky schnoodle/cross who joined the family when I was in high-school.
