Caring for pets means meeting a wide range of needs beyond health care. Fortunately, there’s a whole community of organizations and businesses eager to help.
Here’s where to meet the local groups that we recommend to our pet-loving families.
Advocating for animal rights and ending needless euthanasia of at-risk felines through protection, adoption, and sanctuary.
A community in which all pets are cared for and loved, acting with compassion and responsible stewardship through innovative programs that serve pets and the people who love them.
Pets of the Homeless believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond. Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets.
Pima Animal Care Center has a mission to rescue pets in need, protect our community and save lives. As our community's only open-admission shelter. PACC cares for about 20,000 pets each year and is the only shelter in the county that never turns away a pet in need. PACC is also our community's largest adoption agency and has the largest selection of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
Soldier's Best Friend touches two lives at a time by pairing veterans who have combat-related PTSD/TBI with service dogs.
SALEF's mission is to raise money for critical life-saving equipment, technology items and Officer training opportunities including their four-legged Officers! Also to present events and programs that helps build and maintain good relations between the community and the police.
