Paul grew up in New Mexico along the banks of the Gila River, in the small farming and ranching village of Virden. He is an active supporter of the FFA and 4H, and truly believes that agricultural education is an important part of a good educational foundation. Animal husbandry has always been a part of his life, he and his family continue raising a variety of pets and farm animals on their land in Pomerene, Arizona.
Paul attended Eastern Arizona College where he met and married his wife Stacy in 1987, and they are the proud parents of five daughters. He earned his bachelor's degree in social sciences from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico and later his MBA in Healthcare Management at Western Governor's University in Salt Lake City, Utah. He enjoys riding horses, playing volleyball and spending time with his family. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and plays the guitar.
