Catherine Walters, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Kate Walters-Thornton is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University. Upon completion of her DVM, Dr. Walters completed a small animal rotating surgical/medical internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists in Tampa, Florida. Her professional interests include feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, zoo medicine and ophthalmology.
When not working, she enjoys being outside (skiing, hiking, camping, cycling, running), great food (new restaurants and cooking at home), and travel (domestic and international). Dr. Walters and her husband, Dave, have two dogs: a Heeler/Border Collie mix named Reese, and a German Shepherd named Linux, as well as three cats named Dilinger, Hendrix and Ella. In December 2018, Dr. Walters and family welcomed a perfect baby boy named James into the pack!
Dr. Walters is excited to be part of a hospital that offers so many professional services and expertise all under one roof. She is looking forward to the collaborative workplace and to establish lasting relationships with Willow Creek's clients and furry family members.
