Emergency Care

We are open and staffed 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, for emergencies. Call us immediately at 714-921-8700 if your pet is experiencing an emergency.

The following list is a general guide of pet emergency care situations:

• Sudden swelling of the face or development of hives
• Struck by a car or in the car when an accident has occurred
• Trauma from a fall or another animal
• Seizures
• Unconsciousness or collapse
• Difficulty breathing
• Ingestion of suspected poisons: human medications, rat poison or snail bait, antifreeze, cleansers, fertilizers or overdosing of prescribed medications
• A suddenly swollen abdomen
• Vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24-hours or longer
• Trouble delivering puppies or kittens
• Bite wounds or lacerations of any size
• Pale or blue gums
• Bleeding from any site
• Snake or venomous insect bite
• Noticeable lethargy
