Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Dr. Alexandra Rizzo grew up in Wilton, Connecticut with two dreams: to become a veterinarian and to move to New York City. When the opportunity came to work for Manhattan Veterinary Group, she was thrilled to sign on and accomplish both of these dreams! Prior to joining the MVG team, Dr. Rizzo attended The College of William and Mary graduating with a bachelor's degree in biology. While at William and Mary, she completed a wildlife conservation program in Tanzania and fell in love with the people and wildlife she encountered there. After graduation, she went to Zambia for four months, volunteering for Zambia Carnivore Programme, an organization which aims to research and protect Zambia's wild predators. Watching the veterinarian there rescue injured wildlife further solidified Dr. Rizzo's desire to become a veterinarian herself. Upon her return home to the US, she began working for her local vet and applied to veterinary school. She attended Ross University and completed her clinical year at the University College Dublin in Ireland. In her free time, Dr. Rizzo enjoys going for walks with her dog, Ryder, and playing guitar as Ryder glares at her disdainfully.
