At VCA PineRidge Animal Hospital, we treat every surgical procedure we perform as our highest priority. Regardless of whether it's a routine spay or neuter, or something more complex, you can be confident that your loved one will be in caring, capable hands at all times while in our care.
We offer a wide variety of pet surgical services, performed in our state of the art surgical suite by our experienced doctors, utilizing the most modern surgical techniques and paying the utmost attention to patient safety and comfort. Our highly skilled, compassionate care team will also be on hand to assist with surgery, monitor your pet's well-being and ensure that the entire procedure is a success.
Prior to surgery, we will carefully screen your pet to ensure that he or she is healthy enough to proceed. Pre-surgical screening also helps us to identify certain risks that are unique to your pet so that we can prepare for them ahead of time. The more we plan ahead, the smoother and more successful your pet's procedure will be.
Pain control is very important to us at VCA PineRidge. We believe that all animals have the right to a pain-free experience, and we also believe in doing so in a way that is as safe as possible. We use a number of pain management techniques, including the safest, most effective anesthesia products available. What's more, we will tailor our approach to your pet's unique needs, ensuring that he or she will remain as comfortable as possible without increasing exposure to risk.
The day of your pet's surgery will begin with us getting your loved one settled in and helping to make them feel at ease. We will carefully administer the pain medication and stay by your pet's side, soothing them as they drift off into safe sedation. The doctor will then work diligently and with great precision to complete your pet's procedure as quickly and efficiently as possible. Your loved one's wellbeing will be closely monitored at all times - before, during and following surgery.
Some of the surgical procedures available to patients of VCA PineRidge include:
All orthopedic surgeries and other specialized or advanced surgical procedures are performed in our hospital by a board certified veterinary surgeon.
Once your pet's surgery is complete, we will gently move them to our quiet recovery area. There, our team will continue to monitor your pet closely as the anesthesia begins to wear off. Someone from our office will reach out to you to discuss the surgery and arrange a pickup time. Most surgical patients are able to return home the same day as surgery. For those requiring additional care and monitoring, our hospitalization ward is warm, comfortable and safe.
After-care instructions will be provided at time of discharge, and we encourage you to call us with any questions or concerns once you've returned home with your pet. We want to make this experience as positive and stress-free as possible for you and your loved one, and we'e here to help from start to finish.
If you just learned that your pet needs surgery, there's no need to worry - not when you've got the team at VCA PineRidge in your corner. We'll have that little guy or gal fixed up and on the path to a full and speedy recovery in no time!
