Each staff member is committed to a high quality of care, and through continuous on-the-job training they are able to appropriately educate you on your pet's health care needs. There are often opportunities for our non-licensed support staff to attend continuing education meetings; we encourage and even provide some of those opportunities in order to have a knowledgeable staff. We train our employees to be more than just someone to restrain a pet for the doctors to examine. They are involved with every aspect of their care from checking you in at the front office, to caring for them while they are boarding to monitoring anesthesia during a surgical procedure.

Dr. Walters graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She moved to the Triangle following graduation and practiced at VCA hospitals in the Chapel Hill area for 15 years. Dr. Walters is dedicated to partnering with pet owners to care for their pets throughout their lives. She has special interests in internal medicine, pain management, soft tissue surgery, and rehab. She became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2018 and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist in 2022.
