All of us here at VCA Cromwell Animal Hospital are pet owners ourselves, and we know that bringing your furry family members to the hospital can sometimes be a stressful situation. We are here for you!
We're a three doctor practice, open six days per week to serve you. We have office hours until 7:30 pm four days per week, as well as on Saturdays.
The friendly, professional staff at VCA Cromwell Animal Hospital is made up of dedicated individuals who have made it their mission to help pets live long, healthy lives. To be true to this mission, the hospital team relies on many individuals, and each team member is equally important in helping us deliver the best patient and client experience for you and your pet. We try to provide a relaxing atmosphere which really allows us to concentrate on you and your pet one on one.
And if things get very complicated, we are fortunate to have access to the nation's largest network of VCA veterinarians and board-certified specialists.
Teamwork is a constant in our daily practice. From the very first person you speak to, to the person who checks you and your pet out, our team of pet lovers works cohesively to create a warm and welcoming experience for you and your pet.

Team Spotlight
Dr. Dan Hurley grew up in Cranston, RI, and then completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Duke University in Durham, NC in 1997. He returned to the northeast to earn his doctorate at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, in 2001, where he met his future wife and fellow veterinarian, Dr. Suzanne Gerber. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the MSPCA Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Springfield, MA, Dr. Hurley moved to Connecticut and joined the Cromwell Animal Hospital and Kennels staff in 2002. Sandy grew up in the area, and after attending Boston University and living in various parts of the country for a while, she returned to Connecticut where she has remained since 1989. She obtained veterinary technician certification in 2001. She has special interests in oncology, behavior and training, as well as small animal internal medicine.
Outside the office, Sandy enjoys cooking, photography, reading and hiking with the dogs, as well as spending time playing with and reading to her children. She shares her home with three dogs.
