Esophagoscopy

Esophagoscopy is useful in the diagnosis of esophageal diseases, which includes esophagitis, esophageal foreign bodies, as well as in the diagnosis of esophageal cancer.

This procedure is used to evaluate the esophagus and includes looking for ulcers and removing foreign objects. A fiber optic camera is placed into the esophagus via the mouth while pets are under anesthesia.
