How It Works

Check-In

Check-in time is between lobby opening time and 12:00pm.

Please allow at least 15 minutes to properly check in at our reception desk. All guests need to have an Overnight Check-In Form filled out for each stay.

New clients will be required to fill out a Pet Profile Form and our Hotel and Spa Agreement. This will help us understand your pet’s background, personality and any special needs so we can make your pets experience relaxing and luxurious.

The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa reserves the right to make alternative boarding accommodations if deemed appropriate, such as recommending medical boarding at the adjacent VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital if your pet experiences a medical condition prior or during the boarding stay that would require veterinary care and/or supervision or a more restricted confinement to limit physical movement due to a medical condition or illness.

Check-Out

Check out time is between 3:00pm and our lobby closing time to allow our staff the necessary time to properly prepare each suite for its next guest.

Late check-outs can be accommodated for an additional fee of $25, unless scheduled for a Spa or Day Camp service that day.

Pets not picked up prior to our lobby closing time will be considered overnight guests and be charged an additional night’s stay. 

Due to security and pet comfort considerations, we regret we cannot accommodate check-ins and check-outs during non-business hours.

Additional Requirements

Each guest must meet our published vaccination standards before admittance to our facility. We highly recommend our canine pet guests receive their Influenza vaccine. Pets requiring vaccination updates must have the vaccination(s) administered prior to check in. The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa reserves the right to refuse admittance to any pet guest for any reason, at any time, who lacks proof of vaccinations, displays signs of untreated or potentially contagious conditions, demonstrate aggressive behavior, or who fails our standard health and temperament policies.

All pets entering and exiting The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa must be on a leash or in a carrier for their safety. 

At the hotel, our pet guests are on vacation. Visitation during our boarding is both confusing and interruptive for your pet, and therefore, is highly discouraged.

What Can I Bring?

You are welcome to bring items such as bedding and toys for your pets stay as long as they are new with the purchased tag. We strive to maintain a sanitary and controlled environment for our pet guests. Please make sure to mark your new items with your pets name and your last name to identify it so it is safely returned to you upon check-out.

We recommend you bring your pet’s regular diet for their stay to make them as comfortable as possible and to reduce possible stomach issues. We do offer in house cuisine diets at no additional charge that are specially formulated to help reduce stomach issues.
