Boarding Guidelines

Our trained staff is equipped to accommodate moderate behavioral issues such as shyness, nervousness, food aggression, and mild dog aggression. However, to ensure the safety of our kennel attendants and other boarders, VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital Resort reserves the right to refuse boarding services to pets that might create dangerous situations.

Dogs or cats with a history of biting or clawing will not be allowed to board at Deer Creek. You are required to disclose any behavioral issues or problems of your pet at the time of check-in. Aggression towards people is not tolerated. If the hospital staff is unable to manage your pet, your emergency contact will be asked to pick up the pet within the same business day.

To accommodate boarders with various medical and behavioral needs, and for the overall safety of your pet, we do not offer group play.

For your pet’s protection, all vaccines for both dogs and cats must be current (see list of required vaccines below). Please schedule an appointment with one of your doctors for a physical examination and to administer any past due vaccines prior to your pet boarding with us.

Dogs: Rabies, distemper, parvo, bordatella, influenza and a recent fecal test (within 1 year)
Cats: Feline rabies and feline panleukopenia (distemper)

Feeding

To maintain consistency in your pet’s eating routines and diet, we recommend you provide food for the entirety of your pet’s stay with us. If needed, VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital offers Hills Sensitive Stomach diet for dogs, and Hills i/d for cats, for owners that do not provide food.

Medications

All medications are administered by a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) and must be in their original container with the prescription labeling. There is a $3.45 daily flat rate for medication administration.
