Soft Tissue Surgery

Our hospital offers a wide range of soft tissue surgery services to help diagnose and treat a variety of conditions affecting your pet. Soft tissue surgery refers to procedures performed on areas of the body other than bones and joints (orthopedic surgery), the heart (cardiac surgery), or the nervous system (neurologic surgery).

Examples of common soft tissue surgeries include gastrointestinal surgery (such as removing foreign objects or diseased sections of intestine), urinary tract surgery (including procedures to remove stones, polyps, or other abnormalities), liver surgery (to remove masses or diseased portions of the liver), kidney surgery, spleen surgery (often performed to remove diseased spleens or masses), tumor removal, and lymph node surgery. Other soft tissue procedures may include airway surgery, lung and chest surgery, reproductive surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery options when appropriate.

Our team also offers advanced treatment options such as tumor vaccines (immunotherapy) for select cancer patients. Your veterinarian will discuss the available surgical and treatment options based on your pet’s individual diagnosis and needs.

Pain management medications are a standard part of all soft tissue surgery procedures at our hospital to help ensure your pet’s comfort and support a smooth, speedy recovery.
