Nicola Cohen
Associate Veterinarian DVM

Dr. Cohen is a Bay Area native, born and raised in Oakland. She did her undergraduate studies at UC Davis. She then went to St. Matthews University in the beautiful Cayman Islands for vet school and did her final clinical year at Oklahoma State University. She is fear free certified and tries to incorporate low stress into all her visits. During her education, she's lived through earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados!

She returned to California to practice throughout the East Bay; from Fremont to Kensington, and now Alameda and Walnut Creek. She always planned to be a veterinarian and from a young age, took responsibility for taking care of the family pets as well as neighbors' cats and guide dogs.

She currently has three rescue cats, Pyewacket the tortie, Montgomery the island tuxedo, and Caesar the tuxedo escape artist. A half-greyhound rescue named Murray and five guinea pigs round out the menagerie. When not at work, she enjoys hiking the many trails of the area's beautiful regional parks with the goal of completing the Bay Trail. To pass the time during the pandemic, she has also taken up crafting tiny houses!
