Urinary Issues

Any time an animal develops abnormal urination, the pet should be seen by a veterinarian. Difficulty urinating, urinating frequently and blood in the urine can all be signs of a serious, potentially life-threatening disease.

When to visit VCA Urgent Care
  •  Your pet’s frequent attempts to urinate produce little or no urine
  • Your pet’s urine is red-colored or bloody
  • Your pet is crying while urinating

When to seek emergency care

We recommend visiting an emergency hospital if your pet is/has any of the following:

  • Inability to stand or walk
