Heather Alcaide, originally from southern CA, grew up in a small agricultural town in the Central Valley. Interested in animal science, she got a job at a veterinary hospital, and she has been in the field ever since! She earned a BS in Animal Science from Cal Poly in 1997, and she became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2000. She worked in a variety of roles at general practices until she joined the team at PetCare East in 2012. She started as a relief technician working and progressed into full time, became a team lead, moved into a supervisor role, and now she is our technician manager. She enjoys the opportunities PCE provides for personal and professional growth for herself and her team. Her professional interests include emergency and critical care, leadership, and team dynamics.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys reading, traveling, crocheting, quilting, playing video games, and spending time with her kids and pets. She has a Chinchilla named Taz and five cats: Orange Peel, Olive, Blackberry, Bella, and Charlie.
