Lisa Karpinski

Emergency Veterinarian

Dr. Karpinski graduated from UW Madison in 1995. Prior to joining the MECA team full time, she spent years working in general practices, and did relief work at VCA MECA as well as other clinics around Wisconsin. She moved to Oahu, HI in 2001, where she worked briefly at an ER hospital, then decided to open her own clinic and pet store in Ewa Beach, HI. She moved back to Wisconsin in 2004 to be closer to family and friends. She joined the VCA MECA team full-time in 2024; she was looking for a change from general practice and was enthusiastic about the new challenges of ER medicine (although she still loves seeing dermatology cases).

Dr. Karpinski owns two Alabama Rescue mixed breed dogs named Stanley and Ralphie that keep her on her toes. She also loves the outdoors, concerts, travel, game nights and hanging out with friends and family.
