Wellness Testing

Wellness tests are important to assist the veterinarians in creating an overall portfolio of your pet's health.

By including various tests in your pet’s routine wellness exams, it is possible to create a “baseline” against which future testing can be compared. This can help potential abnormalities be detected more easily and earlier in the course of disease.

Blood tests check for several problems, including red and white blood cell abnormalities, organ function, blood sugar, protein levels, heartworm disease, and tick-borne disease exposure. Regular fecal samples are utilized for intestinal parasite screening. Wellness testing may also include urinalysis to evaluate kidney function, screen for diabetes, and evaluate for the presence of infection or crystals suggestive of bladder stones.
