Dr. Heather Lockhart attended veterinary school at the University of Florida graduating in 2022 with high honors and certificates in Shelter Medicine and Fear Free Handling. She is also the 2022 recipient of the Sandra A. Nasser Memorial Endowed Scholarship for her dedication to feline medicine and research focused around the adoptability of cats in shelters with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
Dr. Lockhart is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and completed her undergraduate education at Truman State University in Missouri. She moved to Florida in 2018 to attend veterinary school with her husband who is now a fish veterinarian. Her passions in veterinary medicine include Fear Free veterinary visits, feline behavior, ophthalmology, and TNR programs.
In her free time, Dr. Lockhart enjoys traveling, hiking, watching football (Go Gators!), playing board games, and relaxing at home with her five cats and one dog.
