Dr. Werlin joined City Cats in 2019.  Prior to that, she was in practice in Somerville for 13 years. She graduated from Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and then spent a year completing an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Colorado State University.  Her professional interests include surgery, pain management, feline medicine, and caring for small mammals, such as guinea pigs, rats, hamsters and rabbits. 

Dr. Werlin lives with her husband, two daughters, and two mischievous cats- Parsnip and Nutmeg.  In her spare time, she serves as the chair of the Massachusetts chapter of Surfrider Foundation, an ocean environmental protection group, and enjoys surfing the cold New England waters, skiing, and cooking. In her cats' spare time, they cultivate hobbies such as eating string, hair elastics, and waterski ropes, with occasional forays into houseplant ingestion.
