Dr. Crystal Force's academic journey is a testament to her dedication to the veterinary field. She has been a member of VCA Animal Hospitals for over a decade. She has also worked with another Mars Veterinary Health Systems hospital for another decade. During a recent break, she furthered her education by pursuing a master's in public health (MPH) from George Washington University's Milken Institute School of Public Health. A Master of Science preceded her MPH in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University Honolulu, a clear indication of her commitment to holistic care for her colleagues and staff. In January 2024, Dr. Force also committed to a two-year feline veterinary medical training program from the Centre for Veterinary Excellence at the University of Sydney. As of December 2024, she has completed the first half and looks forward to finishing the second. Furthermore, she is working on her board certification in the US as a Feline Medicine Specialist from the American Board of Veterinary Professionals.
Dr. Force returned to VCA in the summer of 2024, bringing with her over 25 years of experience as a clinician in the trenches, performing a mix of preventive care, general practice, emergency, and hospitalization medicine. This extensive experience instilled in her a high level of competency and a wide-ranging skill set with numerous abilities and comprehensive knowledge. She has recently accepted the medical director position at VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital while building a new position that will incorporate her vast years of experience in combination with her training as a licensed professional counselor and her MPH to help with the hidden mental health and suicide concerns that dominate more in the veterinary professional field than compared to the general population.
"Helping people take care of their animals also means caring for the medical staff to ensure they are there when families need them most," per Dr. Force.
