Dr. Julie de Silvia grew up in Long Beach, California. She ventured to the east coast in 1996 to attend Duke University for her undergraduate. She completed her B.S in biology and Cameron crazy in 2000. She received her DVM in 2005 from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine after having spent 3 years on the island of Grenada and completing her clinical year at Auburn University. She spent 3 years working in NY but is happy to return to NC and be close to her alma mater, DUKE! Dr. de Silvia enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in internal medicine. She completed her MBA in Health Sector management in 2012 from St. George's University. In her spare time she trains for triathlons and reads. She lives in Cary with her husband, also a vet, and their daughter, born in 2012. Their 4-legged family includes a dog, Ritz (a Grenadian rescue) and their 2 cats, Frac and Nutmeg.
