Dr. Laura Richards is from Pittsburgh, PA, and became a Vermont transplant after attending the University of Vermont. At UVM, she obtained a B.S. in Animal Science and a B.A. in Spanish. Undecided about a career path after undergrad, she started a small food business (making flavored popcorn to pair with beers!) while working as a receptionist at an animal hospital. She soon saw that veterinary medicine was her passion and attended Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Richards is delighted to join the team at VCA Fitzgerald.

Dr. Richards enjoys all aspects of primary care and especially looks forward to seeing her patients during all stages of life. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Ben, and their standard poodles, Lamb and Louis. They also have an old rabbit named Bunjamin, who does not act his age.
