Hospital Manager
RVT
Teresa joined the VCA family as a Registered Veterinary Technician in August of 2009. Originally a technician from northern California, Teresa moved to Barrow, Alaska in 2001, and worked for the North Slope Borough for eight years as a Veterinary Technician, Animal Control Officer, and Lay Vaccinator for the seven surrounding villages. Although she enjoyed the adventures of the great north, it was time to move her family closer to the Anchorage part of Alaska, and has lived in Eagle River since. In 2012, Teresa was promoted to Hospital Manager, and now gets the best of both worlds, being on the administration side of the hospital, but also often gets to still do the fun technician duties and play with the patients that visit us. Teresa lives here with her husband Roger, and has four wonderful kids, three boys, and a daughter who has already shown interest in following her mom's footsteps as an animal lover. In addition to the mini humans, she also has a drooly Fila Mastiff, Calista, a Mastiff mix, Capone. and a crazy Australian Cattle Dog, Piper. Teresa enjoys all of the outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer, and she takes advantage of it whenever possible. She also enjoys softball, bowling, and drawing, but her all-time favorite thing to do is support her kids in whatever activity they are currently in, from football, to band concerts, to horseback riding lessons. Fun Fact: While living in Barrow, Teresa rescued 2 baby walruses, one is now in the Indianapolis Zoo, and the other is in San Diego, California.
