Dr. Ben Evans was born and raised in rural southern Virginia, where he spent his childhood hiking out in the woods and raising dogs, cats, birds, snakes, lizards, hamsters, and fish. 

He completed his Bachelor's in Biology at Brigham Young University in Utah, then returned to Virginia for veterinary school, graduating from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. 

He first came to Arizona in 2009 as an intern zookeeper at the Phoenix Zoo, and returned several times to complete various veterinary internships throughout the valley before letting the weather convince him to move here permanently. 

In his time off, Dr. Evans enjoys camping, rock climbing, soccer, volleyball, home improvement projects, and learning new things. 

Dr. Evans has been with us here at Southside since 2015.
